The animals that we rescue are in fact the lucky ones; around 67,000 rabbits a year go through rescue centres - but what happens to the other ones?
The sad truth is that many die of neglect after years of being alone.
We often spend months nurturing our rescue animals so that they are able to be rehomed - so please understand that we want them to go to the best matched homes possible. Our main aim is to educate the public so that rabbits will no longer rank as one of the most neglected pets in the UK. We will always offer help and a solution to ensure that you get the best out of your pet and that your pet gets the best home!

Adoption Process
Get in contact:
Have you seen a particular animal on our website/social media that you are interested in? Would you like help in your search for the perfect small animal/s? Fill out an adoption application form with as much information about yourself and your situation to start the adoption process. We aim to carry out our adoption process as swiftly as possible as this gives our animals the best chance of a furever home.
Discussion:
We like to get to know our adopters because it helps us match animals to owners! It's a chance for you to ask us any questions you may have about adoption, accommodation, the animals, ongoing care and anything else you might be wondering! We are pleased to say that many of our adopters become great supporters of our rescue and adoption is only the beginning of our relationship with them!
Home support:
It's not scary! We are normal (or not so) people who have children and pets so we know what a 'normal' home looks like! We will most likely turn up dressed as a hay bale! We carry out home visits for your benefit too. This is your chance to ask us what your animal/s will need, show us your accommodation creations and voice your worries or concerns. Meeting face to face is often ideal to answer lots of questions and explain things in detail. Please be aware we are doing video calls at the moment due to Covid 19.
Reservation:
After your home visit we will have a discussion with you about who we feel may suit your home, taking into account your preferences as well as the needs of the animal/s.
You will then be able to reserve the animal/s. However, if the animal/s are available and ready to go you will only be able to reserve them for two weeks. This is put in place to give our animal/s the best chance of a new home. Although the way the process is set up you should already have everything in place by this point.
You cannot reserve an animal until they are ready, for example, health checked, vaccinated and neutered (where applicable). We can however make a note of who you are interested in.
Adoption:
The fun part! When you come to pick your new pet/s up you should have a suitable long term 'cat' carrier with a non slip flooring (newspaper, hay, blanket, mat etc). You will receive their vaccination cards, vet notes and other important information about them. You will sign an adoption form and be given an adoption contract. The adoption fee is payable at time of adoption. However, this isnt the last point of communication, we encourage all new owners to keep in contact and join our community page linked below. Your new pet/s come with lifelong help and advice.
