Cooper

On the 8th of June 2022, we had an emergency situation that needed our intervention.
We had a message the night before asking if we could take in a mum and dad rabbit along with their 4 babies that had just been born. After some shuffling, we managed to get one foster space for the mum and babies. We told the owner that we would find another foster home ASAP if she could keep the dad rabbit for a few more days.

Whilst talking to the owner, Tanya witnessed the dad rabbit being kicked several times by the owner’s child - the child was told that it wasn’t nice to kick animals but he continued anyway. When Tanya was carrying the cage outside of the house, she saw the child then carrying the dad rabbit by his neck.

For obvious reasons we saved the mum, dad and baby from the household and got them to safety.

Cooper is very scared unsurprisingly, but coming around slowly with some time and patience.

We will post an update on these rabbits shortly so keep and eye out to follow their story 🐰🐰
