DANIELLE
I've been interested in animals for as long as I can remember. As a family we've had cats, rabbits, chinchillas, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, hamsters and an edible dormouse. Throughout the past 6 years I have volunteered in a variety of animal centres. Gaining experience working with a wide range of animals from tarantulas and penguins in a zoo to rabbits and other small animals in a rescue. I went on to complete an expedition in South Africa where I realised my love for wildlife and conservation. I have since been back to South Africa to volunteer in a game reserve to gain valuable experiences and a love for the country. I completed a Level 3 diploma in Animal management, completing several more animal based placements. After this I then went onto a BSc Animal Behaviour and Welfare degree where I developed my knowledge and matured my skills. I gained knowledge in biology, behaviour and ethics and completed a dissertation researching a new way to estimate European Hedgehog populations in the UK. I graduated this year and I am now employed within animal rescue. I am excited to start on this new venture with many close friends I have gained on the way. My main rabbit related interests are behaviours, what these mean and how we can improve understanding these to provide the best standards of welfare.
